TRANSCRIBE AUDIO

Please transcribe the audio file to the left into a Microsoft Word document. All applicants are asked to complete this portion independently. Following directions, playing audio files, and general technical ability are requirements for transcription work. We will be closely assessing your technical ability to independently transcribe using unfamiliar tools, the ability to follow the details of these instructions thoroughly, your listening skills, and your research skills.

You will have one upload submission attempt.

FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS

  1. You may use any font and/or size.
  2. Text must have line breaks between speakers. Do NOT designate speakers with speaker tokens such as Q and A.
  3. You are free to use outside resources just as you would in transcription work.
    • TIP:
      • LISTEN: we recommend listening to the audio all the way through before transcribing.
      • PAUSE: Feel free to pause, rewind and re-listen.
      • PROOFREAD: Check your work.
      • FOOT PEDAL: A foot pedal is not required for the sample but is recommended. The audio requires software compatible with playing .mp4 files. You may use any software you have access to transcribe this file. We recommend Express Scribe if you are using your own foot pedal. If you do use Express Scribe, please refer to their Support Page for answers to any questions you might have in its use.
  4. Save your transcript as “FirstnameLastnameSample“
  5. Once you have completed your sample and are ready to upload it for review:
    • Be sure it is saved and submitted as a Word document. Submissions submitted with an incorrect file type will not be reviewed and application will be dismissed.
    • Be careful to check your work and to follow all instructions. We will not be available to assist with individual technical issues.

Samples are due within 72 hours of request and if not received, candidacy will close 7 days after initial application.

Please do not call or email the office with questions as individuals there provide support to clients only. Application questions can be emailed to ICJobs@allegistranscription.com.
